A global design principle for polysulfide electrocatalysis in lithium–sulfur batteries—A computational perspective

چکیده

Widespread commercialization of high-energy-density lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries is difficult due to the lithium polysulfide, Li2Sn (n = 4, 6, 8), shuttle effect. Efficient adsorption/conversion species on an electrocatalytic surface can suppress Modeling adsorption using density functional theory (DFT) calculations has contributed significantly toward understanding their anchoring mechanism at a surface. Different surfaces show unique range binding energies for faster adsorption/reaction kinetics. To predict optimum energy zone, systematic DFT study performed transition-metal sulfide (TMS) including TiS2, VS2, NbS2, MoS2, WS2, and SnS2. The investigation revealed that geometric properties site possibly regulate species. A geometry parameter, Gscore, defined as function bond length number lithium-atom interactions between design principle extended sulfur-deficient (TMSs-x) edge-exposed (TMS(100)) surfaces. Gscore predicts most effective zone distinctive these materials—TMS (1.7–2.1 eV/Gscore ≥ 2.0), TMSs-x (2.0–2.8 2.1), TMS(100) (2.5–3.2 1.09).

Patient Mobility in the Global Marketplace: A Multidisciplinary Perspective

There is a growing global market in healthcare and patients. And while there is a small body of evidence emerging around this phenomenon commonly known as medical tourism there remain significant unanswered policy and research questions which need to be addressed. We outline some of the key issues set against the six key disciplinary preoccupations of the journal: epidemiology, health economics...

A Perspective on Computational Algorithms for Aerodynamic Analysis and Design

This paper examines the use of computational fluid dynamics as a tool for aircraft design. It addresses the requirements for effective industrial use, and trade-offs between modeling accuracy and computational costs. Essential elements of algorithm design are discussed in detail, together with a unified approach to the design of shock capturing schemes. Finally, the paper discusses the use of t...

Pay for Performance: A Reflection on How a Global Perspective Could Enhance Policy and Research

Pay-for-performance (P4P) is the provision of financial incentives to healthcare providers based on pre-specified performance targets. P4P has been used as a policy tool to improve healthcare provision globally. However, researchers tend to cluster into those working on high or low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), with still limited knowledge exchange, potentially ...
